Sahasranama

“सहस्रनामं कीर्तनात् एको नाम अन्यसदृशो न हि।
तस्मात् श्रीविष्णोर्नामसंगीतं जप्यं सदा मनः शुचिः॥”

Among all names, there is none comparable to the chanting of the Vishnu Sahasranama. Therefore, the pure-hearted should always chant the names of Lord Vishnu.”

In the ashram temple, the Lord is awakened every morning with the chanting of the Vishnu Sahasranāma, and every evening the Mother Goddess is venerated with the chanting of the Lalita Sahasranāma.

The Vishnu Sahasranāma is an ancient and powerful stotra (hymn) of the thousand blessed names, virtues, or epithets of the lotus-eyed Lord, to invoke, worship and meditate on the cosmic form of the masculine aspect of the Divine as Lord Vishnu or Hari. Each name eulogises His countless attributes and manifestations.

The Lalita Sahasranāma, is the most sacred text for shaktas, or worshippers, of the Divine Mother and is an immeasurably potent stotra from the Brahmanda Purana. It comprises the thousand holy names and attributes of the unimaginably beautiful Goddess Lalita Tripura Sundari. Composed in reverence to the Divine’s feminine aspect, when chanted mindfully with devotion, the sonic vibration of the awakened mantras within it aligns us with the energy, rhythm, and grace of the Universe.
